The Hotel de Ville is the only hotel in town that is actually on the Mississippi River and offers river views from every Suite. It consists of five suites in four historic buildings which date from 1857 and is centrally located a short walking distance to most shops and points of interest in Alma. All Suites include a private modern bath, elegant living room, full kitchen and one to three bedrooms featuring pillow top queen beds with luxury linens. They each offer unique artwork and period furniture. The Falcon Cottage is adjacent to the hotel and sleeps seven comfortably with a north woods cabin like feeling. You might enjoy the private patio with grill and the back yard with panoramic river views.
The French and Italianate garden behind the hotel is a wonder in itself. The secret garden features life sized bronze statuary and several fountains with whimsical boxwood topiary animals. It has been featured on the “Wisconsin Gardener” television show and many guests visit Alma just to see it.
The hotel includes the Fire and Ice coffee and ice cream shop, the Gypsy Wagon Curiosity Shop (housed in Alma’s oldest building), Art and Soul original art gallery/gift shop and banquet facilities for up to 75 guests. Please check our website for a virtual tour!
