Potosi has the longest main street without an intersection in the world (three miles). At the southern end of Potosi’s Main Street is a gravel road leading to “The Point,” a peninsula of land that juts out into the river, providing a water-level view of the river and outstanding birdwatching.

For local history, stop by the Passage Through Time Museum at 116 N Main Street in downtown Potosi. The museum offers a brochure that outlines a self-guided driving tour of area’s historic sites.

The Potosi Brewery Museum – Great River Road Interpretive Center is home to the National Brewery Museum and the Potosi Brewery Transportation Museum, an official Great River Road Interpretive Center. The museum is open daily. Nearby, you will find the world’s largest cone top can. Potosi Brewing Company Production Facility brings large capacity brewing back to Potosi, with craft beers produced, bottled, canned or kegged in this state of the art facility.

Two miles south of Potosi, just off Hwy. 133, is the Grant River Recreation Area, designed and built by the Army Corps of Engineers. The park has modern camp sites and a picnic area on the banks of the Mississippi. It is open mid-April through October.
