Victory was named by white settlers celebrating the defeat of Black Hawk at the Battle of Bad Axe just south of town. The battle was a turning point in the Black Hawk War of 1832. In the mid-1800s, Victory prospered as a result of the rise of the wheat growing boom. Today, it is a small, quiet community.
